Hello creative friends! Jen here sharing a layout that I put together using the super cute Good Stuff collection from Simple Stories. This collection is so adorable and absolutely perfect for scrapbooking a tween or a teenager layout which is exactly what I did here today!
I had a bit of fun documenting the pure elation that my daughter and I felt after discovering her first college acceptances...phew! Talk about a bit of stress in our household! It felt good to put these thoughts on to a layout now that the "scary" part is over...now we just get to worry about the financial side of things I guess!
The two photos that I used on this page are actually photos from the day of her very first college tour. It felt like a really big day. After touring the campus, we investigated the town a bit and there were some cool spots downtown where there were murals so I made sure to get some fun pictures of my daughter. I was tickled to see that they matched many of the colors in this collection, so I of course made a point to print them with thoughts of using them for this assignment.
In addition to the bright and fun colors of this collection I am in love with the fun mixed bags of artwork that can be found on the papers and embellishments. They are a mix of retro cool and groovy with some pretty thrown in don't you think? It's just so much fun!
Since I knew that I was going to want to use several embellishments on this layout I kept my patterned paper choices somewhat low key and chose to use white cardstock to back my photos. This way I could have a bit of fun arranging different stickers, die-cuts, brad (stickers) and cardstock stickers around my photos and journaling. I used my sewing machine to do a bit of simple straight stitching around the border of my layout just to add a finishing touch.
I'm so glad that I put this layout together using this happy and bright collection and that I shared journaling about this time in our lives. It's something that we're all so excited about and yet it's something that we don't really get to talk about with a lot of people.
Thanks so much for visiting! I'd love to see what you create using this collection! If your share on Instagram be sure to tag me @jenniferamelia.makes!
