Happy holidays, friend! It's Rebeca Ruiz (@simplyrebecaruiz) to share with you a Christmas layout I created with the stunning Simple Vintage Believe collection by Simple Stories. This is my favorite season, and as a family, we have some traditions like doing a photo session. I enjoy that time together, knowing that a professional photographer is doing the work and being certain that the photos are going to be great and perfect for my scrapbooks. In this layout, you can see one of the family portraits from 2024 and how I documented the moment using the elegant Simple Vintage Believe collection to create a layout with lots of texture and layers. It may look like a complicated layout, but don't worry, I'm going to tell you how easy it is to create this look using the products in the Simple Vintage lines, and if you enjoy process reels, visit @simplestories_ on Instagram to watch me creating it.

I started this layout by choosing the cream paper with the big Santa and the gifts in the bottom left corner. With a precision knife, I cut around the right side of the design to create a pocket where I can insert the coordinating kraft paper without covering the beautiful Santa design. The kraft paper is from the Simple Basics pack, and I reduced it to 9 1/2" x 9 1/2". Then, I distressed the edges of the paper and stitched a border around it. After that, I centered the kraft paper and added it to the base of the layout.

For additional texture and to make the layout more interesting, I cut strips of approximately 1 1/2" wide of the other contrasting papers from the collection (red and plaid). I tore and distressed one of the edges of the strips. Then, I cut them into pieces and tucked them under the kraft paper, leaving only a small border to be seen. I did the same technique all around the layout. This is a great way to add texture without wasting the beautiful papers.

To enhance the photo, I matted it with different papers from the collection. First, I used a red gingham paper from the 6" x 8" pad and placed it centered with the photo. Then, I cut three pieces of contrasting patterned papers from the collection (green, black, and cream). These pieces are slightly bigger than the gingham paper, and all of them measure the same. I arranged them behind the photo, a little bit tilted to showcase them, and to be able to fold the upper corner. For the title, I used a phrase from the foam stickers and added the sticker with the tower of gifts to the right. Also in this area, I used a rub-on to give the base paper a mixed media look.

On the upper right corner of the layout, I created a cluster inspired by the printed design on the base paper. I used die cuts from the Simple Vintage Believe collection and rub-ons.

To finish the layout, I added a few stars around the layout. Some of them are from the chipboard stickers, others are rub-ons, and some are foam stickers.

Then, I added decorative brads around the layout to make it more interesting and ended with white paint splatters on two of the corners of the photo.

Thank you so much for your visit. I hope you like this layout, and it inspires you to craft. Please, come back soon for more inspiration.
