Hey there Simple Stories fans, how are you? It’s Lory here today to share with you my latest creation. Spring is coming, even if I love winter, the cold that makes you stay at home with the fireplace, a good book to read, playing with kids while outside is really cold or it’s raining, it’s time to enjoy Spring, don’t you think? So let's make a Spring page :) Today I am using the Full Bloom collection by Simple Stories! It’s a warm color palette that mixes yellow, orange, and pink all together, this is the same palette I have used for my page.
While I was creating I saw an inspirational ice cream image and I fell in love with it at first sight. So why not recreate it?
Here it is, my page came out from this idea. Taking a look around us can inspire us and lights up our creativity.
So let me show you my idea:)
I started with the ice cream idea, I created a background rectangle and then some triangles filling them with different papers and embellishments. You know I adore to mix different kinds of details, from the title made with foam and chipboard stickers, decorative brads and enamel dots, and phrase stickers that I love very much.
Also the photo of my boy is shaped triangular. Once the pieces are done I put it all together creating the ice cream shape, rounding the corners and adding the ice cream stick.
After the ice cream I thought to create a background for it with touches of colors. This is a 9x12 page so I cut another 9x12 white background and I cut some stripes. I underlined the stripes using cotton threads in the color palette of this beautiful collection.
On it I added some bees using the amazing 6x8 stencil. Believe me this stencil size is gorgeous. I finished my page writing my journaling and adding a stride background behind the white one.
Creating is like breathing to me. I feel happy, I forget all the rest and I hope you have the same feeling when you tell your stories. Stories matter and these amazing products and creativity allow us to play and have fun! Our “me time” is important, enjoy it!
