As I looked at the Howdy Collection, I of course immediately started thinking in a Western theme. My youngest son loves to wear boots, so I knew that could be perfect. BUT as I was flipping through the Bits & Pieces, I couldn't resist the Wanted Sign inspiration! So I rolled with it and made a layout unlike anything I've created before.
I used the map paper as the paper sign part. I cut out some triangles on the sides and then distressed those with my hands to rough it up. Then I attached it to a Hickory Cream Color Vibe Paper. I used just a bit of the red patterned paper on the right hand side.
There were lots of "Wanted" words available in this collection so I had a lot of options. Although I really liked the ones that had a wood sign look, I was drawn to the colors in this Foam Sticker. I opted to use that for my heading for the "sign."
Then I combined Color Vibe Foam Alpha Letter Stickers in Navy with a Color Vibe Wood Alphabet Book to personalize the rest of the title: "Rock Throwing Fugitive." This helps to pull in the pictures as well as he just looks mischievous!
As always the embellishments in this collection are amazing! From Foam Stickers to Cardstock Stickers to Bits & Pieces - I made use of all of them throughout my layout.
We often call my son a raccoon because he looks super cute but you never know when he'll strike. Therefore I knew I had to make use of the cute raccoons in this collection in some shape! It worked well within that bottom cluster.
I have to say that I think this was one of the most fun layouts that I have ever made - once my creative juices got rolling on the Wanted Sign idea, it was just a blast! You can check out more details on how it came together over on my YouTube Channel.
