Hey everyone, this is Niki (@nikiclairecreates) and I am delighted to share a new layout today using the beautiful new Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden collection. I have also made a process video and you can find the link at the end of this post.
I really wanted to use the paper with all the farm animals all over it but it was a little busy to use as a full background so instead I made it into a feature at the top of the page. I tore a large strip and then another strip in the black & white gingham print and layered these two together over a sheet of turquoise paper from the Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden 12x12 Basics pack. I’m in love with these Basics papers. They coordinate with the main collection but are solid colours with subtle patterns such as grids or lines and they are perfect for backgrounds.
I added my photo together with three journaling cards cut from the patterned papers. I stitched around all these with black thread. I also made a tag from the black & white gingham paper and I machine stitched around that too and added ribbon and twine.
I added to my photo cluster with ephemera from the Garden Bits and Bits & Pieces packs and I also added some adhesive Decorative Brads – I love those.
For my title I created a little cluster at the bottom of my layout using a long sticker from the Sticker book and a pig also from the sticker book. I wanted to raise him up on foam pads so I stuck him onto a piece of white card and trimmed around him to make him a little more sturdy first. I added the word ‘Sweet’ from the Foam Stickers and the word ‘Life’ from the alphas in the Sticker Book to make up the title Sweet Life. I finished off by handwriting my journaling into the journaling spot next to my photo and a few splatters of black ink. Here’s another look at the finished layout:
Thank you so very much for joining me today and I hope you love the Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden collection as much as I do! Here is the link to the process video if you would like to watch how the layout came together: https://youtu.be/Br5YwjS6oKQ
Happy scrapping
Niki xx
