The highlight of the Summer season here In the Midwest is the 4th of July. In my little town you’ll still see parades down main street and homes decked out with the stars and stripes. Grills will loaded with hot dogs and hamburgers and kids will be running through the sprinklers keeping cool as we wait for the main event.. the fireworks when it gets dark!
The Simple Stories Stars, Stripes and Sparklers Collection is Americana at it’s finest. It’s decked out in shades of red, white and blue and of course you’ll find pattern paper with stars, stripes, and fireworks too. Gingham prints will have you thinking of table covers and meals outdoors.
These seven cards were made with just the Collection Kit that includes papers and a 12 x 12 sticker sheet. For cardmaking I always cut the papers down to 6x6 to make them easier to handle. I flip half of the sheets up, and the other half down so I can see all the prints.
Some of the sheets have journaling cards printed on the. I only use the 3x4” for cards because they’re just the right size. I take all the stickers and apply baby powder to their backs so I can move them around deciding on their perfect position before I commit. When I’m ready I add liquid adhesive or adhesive foam tape to add dimension to my designs.
The sticker sheet includes images, tabs and plenty of sentiments to choose – so layer them on!!! You’ll have plenty for your designs. You can even fussy cut images from the journaling cards to add embellishments to your designs.
I love all the details in the images that bring back lots of memories for me.. like streamers hanging from my bicycle handlebars and even the little basket for my treasures.
Oh gosh!! And star shaped glasses too! It’s puppy love here with this little guy – he’s loving the cookout and playing outside, but I bet he’ll be under the bed with the fireworks light up the night.
I’ll be using my cards to invite folks for cookouts, and to share in the festivities on July 4 because everything is better with friends.
