Holiday
Hey Friends!

It's Rebecca Moore @preciouspagespapercraft back with you, and today I'm sharing my first layout created with the wonderful and fun 'Just Beachy' collection. I adore the tropical vibes this collection gives off with its bright colours, palms, flamingoes... all of it just makes me want to escape to a sunny island somewhere!

Today I'm scrapping a photo of my little man and I on holiday last year. We'd taken a stroll to an amusement centre on the seafront and were having fun in an inflatable, engine-powered boat. My son soon discovered that if he turned the wheel full lock, we just zoomed round in circles making 'donuts' on the water! I wanted to convey this story on the page and so I chose to make a layout with lots of circles! I selected two patterned papers from the Collection Kit and using my die cutting machine, cut out some circles of varying sizes. I arranged these in the centre of a sheet of white cardstock and placed my photo in the middle.

For my title, I've reached for one of my favourite Simple Stories products - the Foam Stickers! I placed it running parallel with the bottom of my photo. It's not often I scrap photos in landscape orientation, but I knew I wanted to use the 'Holiday' title and it worked much better with a wider photo... so landscape it was!

I am loving the new Big Bits & Pieces that are now available in a lot of Simple Stories collections, and on this layout, I've used two bits from the pack - the beach huts and the flamingo. I always love a pink flamingo on a holiday layout! I positioned the beach huts behind my photo, with just the green one fully visible and the tops of the others just peeking out above my photo. I placed the flamingo proudly to the right of my photo, tucking his leg behind and his body in front. (I don't know why I've decided he's a boy flamingo!!)

The wooden board signs from the Journal Bits & Pieces were perfect for this layout and I loved the sentiments on them! I selected only 4 out of the 5, purely leaving the orange one out because it is a pale orange colour, and there was nothing else on the layout that colour. I placed two at the top of my layout and 2 closer to the bottom, and staggered them slightly just like the wooden boards you see on the beach! I raised these up on foam pads to add some dimension.

With all the larger elements in place, I turned my attention to the smaller elements in the collection and added a few small cardstock stickers from the 12x12 sheet. The little starfish are so adorable and I love them because the design on our boat had sea creatures on it so they worked really well.

I wanted to frame the page with something bold, so I selected two Color Vibe cardstocks. The 'Textured Brights' complement this collection really well. I selected pink and mint to match the main colours on my page.

I then finished the layout off with the addition of some of the gorgeous glitter enamel dots. I loooooooooove these glittery dots and how they sparkle in the light!

Thanks for reading! I hope you like this fun and colourful layout. I can't wait for my summer holiday this year so I can get busy scrapping some new photos with this collection!

Take care.

Rebecca Moore xx
