I’ve always been into baking but I’ve been even more into it lately, especially as an easy treat to make with the kids home so much more lately. Cookies are my favourite thing to bake and I have a few new and old favourite cookie recipes that I started pulling together in a little mini cookbook using the Simple Stories Apron Strings collection
I used a 4x6 Flipbook for my album. Since I was focusing on cookies only here I don’t need a huge album and I love the handy size. I used the 4x4 Elements Cardstock to cover the front of the Flipbook - those little yellow chickens are so adorable! Along the spine edge I layered some red patterned washi from Apron Strings along with the scalloped border sticker from the Combo Sticker Sheet. It’s an easy way to make the cover just a little more fancy.
I love decorating the Flipbooks so much. The potential is infinite! I knew that the Recipe chipboard sticker from Apron String had to be on the cover. I layered it with some Journal Bits, stickers and brads for a bright and clean album title.
On the inside of the cover I used the same bold yellow chicken cardstock with a 4x6 Element for the first page that says Recipes. There are so so so many great recipe cards in Apron Strings that I knew I had to make a little pocket on the inside to hold some blank recipe cards so they’d be handy when I need them.
I used the What’s for Dinner? cardstock to make a pocket with one of the very punny stickers from Apron strings on the front. I added washi tape and the rest of the scalloped border sticker along the edge to make it a little more obvious and pretty.
Inside is all the cookies. I used a mix of recipe cards from the Recipe Card cardstock sheet as well as some from the 6x8 Recipe Book pad. I used the Color Vibes Brights Alpha Sticker Book to make my titles a little more bold. I kept the photo embellishments simple with some nice floral Bits & Pieces in the negative space around the cookies and a few enamel dots sprinkled on them.
I did the same on this page too. I changed up the alpha colour, the Brights Alpha Sticker Book coordinates pretty well with Apron Strings
Down in the corner I made this cute little cluster with Bits & Pieces, enamel dots and brads. It’s always fun to add a bit of dimension.
Here I had a 3x4 photo so I added in one of the tags from the Apron Strings Tag cardstock next to it along with another recipe card. The bright colours and fun embellishments go well with how much fun I have baking cookies. I am a sprinkle addict so I “sprinkled” enamel dots, brads and hearts from Apron Strings all around the negative space of the cookies. I love it!
If you’re looking to document some of your favourite recipes or have some cherished family recipes that need organizing Apron Strings is a great collection with lots of recipe cards and cute kitchen themed papers.
