Hello Simple Stories Friends!
Nathalie with you today with a bit of inspiration featuring the new GOOD STUFF Collection. This is probably one of my favorite collections. The color combo, the designs, and the overall feel of the collection is just amazing, and perfect to document all types of memories. I think we all love documenting our special moments, but forget to document the mundane, the everyday life as we see it. So today, I want to show you how this collection can make the simple things, amazing!!
The inspiration for the background actually comes from the May paper. There is a 3x4 card with a few color waves in it. So, I used the idea, and the colors of the collection to create my type of waves.
I drew and cut the waves using a free hand drawing from papers from the 6x8 paper pad, and also the 12x12 papers. I then glued them to white cardstock and hand stitched them to the cardstock. Then trimmed the white cardstock to continue the shape of the waves.
I selected the March paper for my base. I used the Plus Sign Stencil to create a bit of texture on the background with embossing paste. This dried while I stitched the waves. Of course, one of the first embellishments I gravitated to was the chipboard frames. So, I made sure the texture shows behind the photo and frame.
Once my wave was glued to the background, the chipboard frame and picture were then glued to the curvature of the wave. Now, it was all about embellishing, I used pieces from each of the packs to add small clusters throughout the page. The large foam adhesives were perfect to describe the layout, thus create the title of the page.
I used the lines of the background paper to add my journaling lines, then continued the layered look of the embellishments in the collection and mixed a few of them close to the bottom of the page. I tied the page together by adding butterflies in each of the major clusters.
This layout came together easily, though it took a bit of time to stitch it together. But I love how my ordinary routine looks spectacular in the page. Be sure to check the GOOD STUFF collection, you are going to love it all!
