Hello Simple Stories friends, Becki here, to share a layout with you that I created using the Happy Hearts collection and a 4x6 Sn@p Flipbook. It’s almost 2021, I can’t believe it! Before we know it, Valentine's Day will be here. I’m excited to share this Happy Hearts project with you. Because it’s the end of the year, I decided to create a flipbook with a few of my favorite photos of me and my husband from the past year.
To start things, off I decorated the cover of the flipbook with patterned paper, cardstock, and a few stickers. I wanted the title to pop off of the cover, so I added a piece of white cardstock behind the “love you” title. To give the title finished look, I stitched around the edge of the white cardstock with pink embroidery thread. Along the edge of the cover, I tied a pink and white gingham bow. I always love adding an adhesive brad to the center of the bow. Make sure to add some liquid adhesive if you’d like to try this.
On the inside cover, I added a few of my favorite page pieces. I love the huge “with all my heart” die cut. I added a few embellishments above the large title. I added a photo of my husband and I on the first page of the album. I kept the albums to a minimum to balance out the bold title on the inside cover,
The second page features a 4x4 photo, some adorable embellishments and a space for journaling. The title, “I really, really, really like you” made me smile because my husband and I say that to each other all the time. I added the journaling to this album after I took the photos. As my kids would say, “we don’t want to hear all the mushy stuff!”
On the next two pages, I added a bit of ribbon and pom-pom trim. I love the added texture and dimension throughout the album. The chipboard, foam stickers, and puffy stickers also give tons of texture and dimension to this album. Aren’t Simple Stories foam stickers the best?!? They’re one of my very favorite embellishments. The page on the right is an “out of the page protector” page. I created the page with white cardstock and punched holes to put it into the album. That is one of my favorite things about the Flipbook system. I can add and take out pages as I need to. I love adding interest with both types of pages.
This page has a fun interactive element. On the right page, there is a flap underneath to add additional photos and journaling. The floral tab on the lower right side of the page helps the reader turn the page.
There is another “out of the pocket” page on the right side of this spread. This one has a flap that folds out to the right (under the word “love”). Under the flap, I added a couple of small photos.
Probably one of my favorite embellishments is on this page. I love the little pink envelope to the left of the photo with J+B on the paper. I couldn’t resist personalizing this cute die cut with letter stickers from the Lights Color Vibe Alpha Sticker Book.
The last page in the album features a couple more small photos. I saved the photo of my husband and I walking away for the last page. I think it fits perfectly! On the inside cover of the last page.I added some patterned paper and a few embellishments. I love the way it ties the whole album together!
I am so happy with how this little flipbook came together. Flipbooks save me SO much time because I don’t have to create a mini album with chipboard and paper, it’s already done for me! Isn’t Simple Stories the best!! Make sure you hurry and grab the Happy Hearts collection. You’ll love it!!
Happy crafting, my friends!
