Hello there – it's Tya (@tyasmith3) - Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and there’s no better time to share a little love than by giving a handmade card using the Heartstrings collection! This delightful collection is filled with sweet icons, vibrant patterns, and heartfelt sentiments that make creating Valentine’s Day cards a joy! I made 9 cards that I’d like to showcase today so let’s get started!
My first card features an adorable envelope as the focal point – this is found on the Elements 2 cut-apart paper and is accented with lots of layered floral die cuts and sparkly enamel dots for added texture. I used the 6x8 paper pad for my patterned papers here. The cute designs on the paper made for some really cute banners. The XOXO is from the Foam Stickers and acts as a playful title. I also added a sentiment strip sticker from the Cardstock Stickers. A lovely little heart die cut is accentuated with a pretty mint brad from the Decorative Brads.
This whimsical card showcases the adorable delivery truck from the Bits and Pieces. I layered the pretty floral paper with a bright red doily from my stash for a sweet and feminine vibe. The "Just for You" sentiment is layered on top of one of the journaling cards cut from the 6x8 paper pad. Also, a cute package top with a heart brad is something this recipient is going to love!!
This design captures the essence of romance with a bunny driving in a cute floral delivery truck. This cutie is found on the Foam Stickers and makes for a fun focal point. I layered the truck on top of one of the journaling cards on the Elements 1 cut-apart paper. The pink doily makes for a soft background and then I added a velvet bow and a pretty paper clip from my stash for more textures.
How adorable is that little hedgehog?!? He is found on the sticker sheet and I adore him! A bold heart with the phrase “You are Cute” from the Sentiment Bits is backed with a pretty bouquet sticker for lots of layering goodness! I layered the bold polka dot journal card and floral pattern papers on the card. I just love those dots! Add some twine and some small heart accents, and you have yourself one cute little card!
This vibrant card features 2 oversized hearts found in the Floral Bits and Pieces. These hearts are layered with floral embellishments and enamel brads in matching colors. The background features a beautiful bunch of florals backed in green and adds a lovely punch of color. The “Love You” foam stickers make a great dimensional sentiment!
A bold “Love You!” sentiment from one of the 4x4 cut-apart cards takes center stage on this cheerful card. I layered in on some soft mint pattern paper, accented by a vibrant red polka-dot pattern and a delicate pink doily. This card is finished with floral die cuts adorned with enamel dots and another velvet bow and paper clip for added charm.
This playful design includes a red doily as the base for a “Smooch” pennant flag from the Bits and Pieces. I mounted it on a small wood stick from my stash for a more realistic-looking banner. Layered behind the raccoon kisses booth from the Decorative Brads. The soft pastels of the background papers look great next to the bold red. The floral and heart accents are made even more fun with a paper flower for added texture. The touch of black and white twine really stands out as well.
This playful card features one of the 4x6 cut-apart cards on the Elements 2 paper. I cut the top right corner off of the card and added a pretty pop of orange plaid paper to the corner. The corner is layered up with some cut-apart journal spots as well as the “Life Is Better with You” Sentiment Bits and Pieces die cut. Enamel dots and a pretty paper clip add great visual texture to this card.
Our final card is so charming and radiates warmth and love with its orange gingham background and pink scalloped border. The focal point is a bright orange bicycle from the Bits and Pieces. The basket is layered up with glitterier enamel accents. I layered one more paper flower with a twine bow and it frames in the” Hello Love” sentiment perfectly. The mix of vibrant colors and sweet details make this card perfect for sending cheerful love notes.
