Happy Haunts Halloween mini book

Happy Haunts Halloween mini book

For this project, I paired the collection with a 4x6 black flip book, and I think it is the perfect little size for a seasonal mini album. It would be especially fun to take along on a Disney park visit during the Halloween season, but you definitely don’t have to be heading to the parks to enjoy this collection. I used mine to document our Halloween memories from last year, and it worked perfectly!

I started by decorating the album itself. I covered the front with the fun polka dot patterned paper, added some machine stitching, and then layered on a mix of ephemera and foam stickers. I love combining the different textures and finishes throughout the collection because they add so much interest without making the album feel too bulky.

I also covered the inside and back covers with patterned paper, leaving a thin black border around the edges so that a little bit of the original album still shows through.

For the inside pages, I kept everything in the 4x6 format that comes with the flip book. You could absolutely mix in different page sizes if you wanted to, but I loved the clean and consistent look of the 4x6 pages.

For my photos, I used a variety of sizes ranging from 2x3 all the way up to 4x6. Mixing the photo sizes helped every spread feel a little different while still keeping the album cohesive. I also mixed in lots of patterned papers, ephemera, stickers, and embellishments throughout the pages.

Some of my favorite pieces to work with were the foam stickers and decorative brads, but truly, you can’t go wrong with all of the fun bits and pieces included in this collection. There are so many adorable details to layer and tuck around your photos.

I also added a few tags throughout the album, created a couple of flip-up pages for an extra interactive element, and used some of the 4x6 elements as simple pages in between the more embellished spreads. I love including those quieter pages because they give your eye a little place to rest as you flip through the album.

To finish everything off, I added the cute little tabs along the edge of the album. Not only are they a fun decorative detail, but they also make it really easy to flip through the pages.

This really is such a perfect little album size for documenting the Halloween season, an October full of memories, or a special visit to the Disney parks during all of the Halloween festivities.

I love how this one came together, and I hope it inspires you to pull out your favorite Halloween photos and create a little mini album of your own!

Have a wonderful day,

Inessa Persekian
