Hello my crafty friends! Emilie here with a band new layout using the gorgeous Acorn Lane collection by Simple Stories. How truly gorgeous is this collection??? I can’t help myself but to scrapbook with it again and again.
As the weather is getting colder, all I can think about is being wrapped up in a fluffy quilt in front of the fireplace and this is exactly what inspired this layout.
I started off by selecting my patterned papers. Those patterns are so gorgeous that I knew I really wanted to put them at the forefront of my layout and let them shine. I cut them all as to create a quilted background for my layout.
I lightly glued them to a piece of cardstock and used my sewing machine to go around every edges. Make sure not to add glue where you know you will stitch as this could break your machine. I have learned this the hard way...
It was time to add my photograph. I mounted it onto a whiter patterned paper to bring a tiny bit of fresh air and then placed it on top of a frame by lifting it with foam pads.
Then came my favourite part: embellishing. I selected several florals and leaves from the BITS AND PIECES pack as well as my title and placed them in a triangle around my photo. Creating a visual triangle helps the eyes being directed back to the photograph.
A few STICKY BRADS and ENAMEL DOTS placed cleverly around my clusters finished off my layout beautifully.
