Hello Simple Stories friends its Gloria Parra here, super excited to share a new Color Vibe project with you all! The Color Vibe Boho and Woods collection combine so well between them and with many of the themed Simple Stories collections. This time I paired both of them with the amazing Trail Mix collection to create a beautiful Family themed Layout.
For my base, I started with the dark woodgrain patterned paper from the Woods Color Vibe pack and used an 11x11” white Color Vibe cardstock (a must have in your stash!).
Since arch backdrops are so IN right now in the decor and party world I decided to create some arches on my layout. My friend Becki Adams gave us a little tip on how to create them and I thought it was really clever!
I cut a 4.5 X 9 inch strip of Boho Color Vibe cardstock and a 4.5 inch circle that I used as my template. On my long strip of Boho cardstock I drew half a circle on the top and proceeded to cut it, creating my arch. I repeated this process 3 times on my three different colors of Boho cardstock, varying the length of all three. This way I created the staggered arch look that is so popular right now!
I printed my photo at 8 1/4 X 4 inches, that way it would fit in my middle arch and be the main focus of my layout. I then began creating my floral arrangements all around my main middle arch. I started by cutting some flowers from the floral Trail Mix patterned paper called “Nature Lover”. I placed some of them around the arch and then worked my Boho Flower Bits into the arch. I layered a couple of flowers on top of each other with foam adhesive to create dimension and added an enamel dot or brad on top of each flower.
I added a couple of Boho chipboard heart all around my arch, to simbolize the love that radiates from being together For my title I used the word ephemera label that says “HAPPY” as well as the “FAMILY” foam sticker that I placed at the bottom of my arch. I really like how the Happy word fits perfectly inside the Boho chipboard frame!
Finally, I finished my layout adding a little bird and a butterfly for the Trail Mix collection that helps create a visual triangle and ties the colors in the layout together.
