Hello fellow paper lovers! It’s Cheryl here today showing you this fun mini album using the new Here & There collection
This collection has such a great neutral colour scheme, it is perfect for everyone! The colours are definitely out of my usual style and made me step out of my comfort zone, but that’s what I love about scrapbooking: always finding new ways to create and challenging ourselves to think outside of our safe zone we are so comfortable with. I absolutely love how this album turned out in the end and it’s one of my all time favourites.
I made a chipboard album base and made the front cover 1 1/2 inches smaller than the back cover, because I wanted the album to look more open (I hope that makes sense). I wanted the pages to be peeking out of the album and that feature definitely draws attention. I used a darker patterned paper to wrap my chipboard and used lighter stickers, ephemera and foam stickers to embellish the front cover. The collection comes with a set of beautiful flower ephemera and I couldn’t help myself from creating a flower cluster on the cover. If you know me then you’ll know I love my flowers! :)
I have added gold metallic machine stitching to every page for more interest, as well as the layer of patterned paper on the cover of the album. I’ve also added some teared paper strips to the front and you can see it a little bit behind my flower embellishment cluster. All of the pages inside of the album are a little bit shorter on the left hand side. They start shorter and grow by 1/4 inches until the hit the middle page, which is the width of the album. I absolutely love how this looks and it instantly makes me want to flip through all of the pages.
I found grey seam binding in my crafty stash and added it to the chipboard sides to help keep my album closed when not in use. I find this especially helpful when I create albums with different page widths. The pages have been lightly decorated and there is plenty of space for smaller photos and lots of journalling. I have sprinkled enamel dots around the pages and cover for the perfect finishing touch.
I hope this mini will inspire you to document your incredible travel memories and maybe even create an album to gift to your loved ones!
