Hey scrappy friends!
What could be more summery than sunshine, fresh lemons and lots of bright, happy colors? For this layout, I wanted to create something light, fresh and airy, with plenty of white space and just the right amount of yellow, green and mint. I also really love the combination of the colorful lemons with the black-and-peachy illustrated ones — they add such a fun contrast to the page!

I started by fussy cutting lots of lemons from two different patterned papers, LEMON SQUEEZY and 3x4 ELEMENTS. I chose a mix of the bright yellow lemons and the more vintage-looking black-and-peach ones because I knew they would look really cool together.
Next, I cut out long, branch-like pieces from two different patterned papers, MAIN SQUEEZE and FRESH PICKED. I arranged them horizontally across my white cardstock, almost like whimsical stems growing from one side of the page to the other. Before adhering anything, I played around with the placement of the stems and lemons until I was happy with the overall design. I wanted the elements to spread across the page while still leaving plenty of white space in between to keep everything light and airy.

Once I liked the arrangement, I started gluing everything down. I adhered the stems with liquid glue after distressing them a bit and used a combination of liquid glue and foam tape for the lemons. Popping some of them up adds dimension and makes the lemons look like they’re growing right off the page.
For my photo, I actually used some of the pretty packaging paper from the collection as a mat. I love using packaging whenever I can! I added the photo towards the lower center of the page and then also added two more lemon stickers onto the branches.

To bring even more sunshine to the layout, I added a big sun and a few clouds from the ephemera pack. I love how the sun peeks in from the upper left corner and helps draw the eye across all those lemons and stems.
For my title, I combined foam stickers and ephemera pieces to create “Good Times, Big Smiles.” The large black lettering really stands out against the white background and also ties in beautifully with the illustrated lemons.
I added a scalloped border from the 6x12 sticker sheet and then decided that my stems needed a little something extra. So I grabbed a pencil and lightly sketched some tiny leaves around them. Once I was happy with the shapes, I went over them with a mint-colored pen. I really love this little handmade detail! The doodled leaves blend in with the patterned-paper elements but also make the whole design feel a bit more playful and unique.
For the finishing touches, I scattered some tiny flower stickers along the stems, added a few brads for little pops of color and, of course, sprinkled gold paint across the entire page. I especially love how the gold splatters look against all that white space — just a tiny bit of sparkle to finish everything off.

And that’s it! I really love how fresh and cheerful this page turned out. The combination of sunny yellow, green and mint with the black details feels so fun for summer, and all that white space lets every little element shine.
I hope this layout puts you in the mood to document some of your own sunny memories. And remember: when life gives you lemons… fussy cut them and put them on a scrapbook page!
See you soon and happy scrapping!
