Hey everyone! This is Niki (@nikiclairecreates) here today with a cute little mini album made using the Take Note collection. This album documents a trip to the Twist Museum in London, where we had a great time exploring all the optical illusions – it was amazing fun!

I decided to make a tag book–style album with lots of small, different-sized pages, all held together with a book ring. I had 23 photos to fit in, so I definitely needed quite a few pages!

I started by pulling out anything from the embellishment packs that I could use as base pages. Most came from the Office Ephemera, which is packed full of really useful pieces. I used files, notebooks, frames, the filmstrip and lined paper – all slightly different shapes and sizes, which has given the album some great variety. The Journaling Bits pack was also perfect for base pages, and I pulled out quite a few pieces from there too.

I also cut out some tags from the Tags Elements patterned paper, and the remainder of my base pages came from the 3x4 Elements Paper and the Journal Elements paper. I simply trimmed out the journaling cards I wanted from those sheets.
My front cover consists of a tag from the Tags Elements paper, a piece from the Floral Bits, and the ‘good times’ and ‘big smiles’ phrases from the Foam Stickers – I absolutely love this combination for a front cover!

For two of the pages, I kept a block of two 3x4 journaling cards together and folded them to make a little booklet. I then added pockets on the inside so I could include multiple photos. I had to cut a small notch from the top piece so it could open easily without removing it from the book ring.

For the two file folders from the Office Ephemera pack, I sewed them together on three sides and left one long side open, creating a pocket for even more photos.

For the frames, I backed them with my photos and added patterned paper behind where needed to fill any gaps when the photos weren’t quite the right size.
I also made a mini shaker pocket using the camera piece from the Office Ephemera. I cut a piece of acetate the same size as the camera and machine stitched it in place, trapping some cute sequins inside – I love how this little page turned out!

I machine stitched around most of the pages using white thread. I always feel like my mini albums aren’t complete without lots of stitching! I also added little bits of ribbon and trim throughout the album for extra texture.
Each page was embellished with items from the Cardstock Stickers, Bits and Pieces, and Floral Bits. Because the pages are quite small, I needed lots of little embellishments, and these were all perfect. I also added Decorative Brads, Enamel Dots, and a few pieces from the Foam Stickers as well.

Finally, I made a bundle of ribbons and threads as a charm to hang from the book ring. I simply cut lots of different lengths of trim, folded them all in half together, and tied an extra piece of thread around the top to create a loop.
I really love how this album turned out. Each page flips up on the book ring, and the page on the reverse is the correct orientation to read. I used every side, of course, sticking everything back-to-back so it works beautifully as a little flip book.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this mini album – I loved making it! The Take Note collection is so versatile and packed full of amazing colours and embellishments. I can’t wait to create with it again and again.
Happy scrapping,
Niki xx
