If there ever was a collection that included all the things that I love, the Simple Stories Take Note collection is it! Hi, friends! Jana Eubank here. And I'm excited to be sharing a new layout with you today!
The Take Note collection includes all of my favorite colors, flowers, and cameras & office icons. SWOON! I am SOLD! I couldn't wait to create with this one!
I began with the aqua grid paper for my background, then selected several of my favorite patterns to build up layers behind my photos.
After placing my photos, I decided to work on the title area. I fussy-cut a few library cards from the 'Focus on the Day' paper, then used a notebook edge border punch from my stash to add some detail across the top edge.
Next, I layered the two library cards with one of the tabbed memory Dex card die-cuts from the pack of Office Ephemera die-cuts. This created a home for my title, a Foam Sticker accented with Floral Bits. I tucked in a few cameras from the Bits & Pieces, too. So CUTE!
I printed my journaling on vellum, then adhered it to the front of a tag die-cut, also from the Office Ephemera. The bright color of the pink flowers throughout the page helps to capture the viewer's eye and draw your attention through each element of the layout.
To create balance, I repeated the pencil icon from the paper strip at the top of the page, by adding in a few pencil die-cuts to the right edge of the photo at the bottom of the page. The pencils work perfectly here on this layout about my daughters at school.
Along with the bright pink flowers, the black and white elements throughout the page bring a sense of continuity & balance. I added a bit of shine with a sprinkle of Glossy Enamel Dots here-and-there. (A good rule of thumb: NEVER forget to add enamel dots! Ha!)
I loved creating this scrapbook page about my oldest daughter passing the student-government-baton on to her younger sister at school. The cute colors, pencils, cameras, and flowers from the Take Note collection enhanced this memory perfectly!
