Hello Simple Stories friends,
Becki here, to share a layout with you that I created using the Flea Market collection. The first thing that I fell in love with in this collection is the patterned papers. Patterned paper will always have my heart! It’s always the first thing that I reach for when creating a layout.
Sometimes, I have a hard time cutting into a brand-new collection pack. I’m guessing you might have the same problem. When I find myself not wanting to cut into a 12x12 paper, I reach for the 6x8 paper pad. I find that cutting into a smaller piece of paper is less daunting!
I started this layout by cutting out strips of patterned paper from the 6x8 paper pad at various widths. After I cut a few strips of paper, I chose my background paper. I chose the mint grid so that I would have a neutral background for all of the patterned paper strips.
I knew that I wanted my photo slightly off center with a diagonal design. So, I started to add strips along the bottom left of the page. Then, I adhered strips of patterned paper along the top right of the layout. I added my photo where the two sets of patterned paper strips met.
After I had my photo and patterned paper papers in place, I started adding my title and embellishments. I added some of the embellishments and the title to the left of the photo. The rest of the embellishments and the subtitle went on the upper right corner of the photo. I finished things off with some journaling strips at the bottom of the photo.
I had SO much fun playing with the Flea Market collection. I cannot wait to make a mini album with this collection. What will you create with the Flea Market collection? Thank you so much for stopping by the Simple Stories blog! Happy crafting!
