Hello Simple Stories friends,
Gloria Parra here with a brand-new project using the super fun Fur Baby Dog Collection! For this layout, I had the cutest photos from our sweet dog Coco’s fourth birthday. We celebrated with a homemade dog cake and even put a little party hat on him. The girls had so much fun showering him with love—it was such a sweet moment to document!
For the base of my layout, I used the colorful bone pattern paper to set a playful tone. I layered two Color Vibe cardstocks on top—Dandelion cut to 11.25” and White at 11”. These created a nice clean frame for the rest of my design.
Next, I selected three B-sides of patterned papers to create banner strips, which acted like a shelf for my photos and embellishment clusters. I cut the green strip at 2” and the blue and yellow strips at 1.5”, punching banner tails on the left side of each. I layered and staggered them horizontally across the page, about 5.5” from the top, and adhered them flat to keep the base neat.
For my photos, I used two 3x4” shots and framed them with two patterned papers—one floral and one orange gingham—to help them pop off the page. I placed them on the right side of my banner cluster, about 4” from the left border.
Then came the embellishing—my favorite part! I created three clusters starting from the top. I added a die-cut that says “Caution: Wet Slobbery Kisses” and layered a floral element behind it for a soft, organic touch. It adds a fun and whimsical feel that I just love.
To the left of the photos, I built the second cluster using a die-cut tent that says “Treats” and the cutest little dog piece that totally reminds me of Coco. I layered the dog on top of the tent and tucked them into the photo corner to keep everything cozy and cohesive.
For my third cluster, I used a small 2x2 photo of the homemade cake we made for Coco. Just below my main photos, I added the Forever Friends foam sticker as my title. I also placed a yellow label underneath for journaling and added my typed words there.
To finish things off, I used three speech bubbles—one in each cluster—and added foam heart stickers sprinkled around like confetti. My favorite final touch? The little birthday banner on the top left corner—it brings all the party vibes and ties the whole page together!
I absolutely love how this page turned out, and I hope it inspires you to document the special moments with your fur babies too. If you’d like to watch the full process, head over to my YouTube channel @gloriascraps to see it all come together.
Thanks so much for stopping by friends!
Until next time, hugs and kisses!
