Sometimes an idea just sparks and you have to run with it! That’s exactly how this large ticket mini album came to life—starting with the ticket shape from the 6x8 paper pad.
I began by trimming out the ticket from the 6x8 pad, cutting the straight sides with my paper trimmer. To get that classic ticket shape, I used a hole punch to remove the little half-circle notches on each side. This first ticket became my template.
From there, I cut eight more patterned papers (sized to about 7 1/8" x 3 1/2") from the 12x12 sheets and used my ticket template to punch the notches in the same spots. I also used a 1/4" circle punch to create the binding holes—about 3/4" from the top and bottom, and roughly 1/4"–3/8" from the left edge.
The patterns I chose came from: Journal Elements, 2x2 & 4x4 Elements, Admit One, This Way, Bus, 4x6 Elements, 3x4 Elements, Rainbow Starburst (6x8 pad)
Because some had cut-aparts on the reverse side, I adhered them back-to-back: the 4x6 Elements with the 2x2 Elements, and the 3x4 Elements with the Journal Elements. I even added stitching along the top and bottom for extra texture.
For the cover, I set two yellow eyelets into the binding holes, added glitter glue to the stars, and fussy cut “Fun Times” from the Simple Page Pieces. Foam adhesive gave it some lift, and a few letter embellishments finished the look.
Inside Pages & Details
- Intro Page: Red and white stripe background layered with Bits & Pieces and Simple Page Pieces, plus a “Happy Day” sticker and gold star for a playful start.
- Flip-Up Page: A green journaling element folded and adhered to the back of the star pattern page. “Happy” and “Yum” stickers decorate the outside, while a 2x2 “Yum” cut-apart pops up inside. Underneath, a 3x4 photo is embellished with stickers.
- Rainbow Ticket Page: Large rainbow ticket with a 3x4 photo centered, layered with Bits & Pieces, “Let’s Go” sticker, and rainbow starburst—all with foam adhesive for dimension.
- Sunburst Page: Sunburst rainbow background with 3x4 photo, “Round and Round” and “Go” stickers, and a red star accent.
- Orange Polka Dot Page: 4x4 photo on the left, Bits & Pieces and a cheeseburger chipboard on the right, plus glitter glue accents on the coffee cup sleeve.
- Final Page: Photo on the right with “Fun” chipboard, “All the Things” sticker underneath, and chipboard stars in the corner.
This mini album came together quickly but really packs a punch—bright colors, fun embellishments, and photos that make me smile every time I flip through.
