I totally love the bright colours of this collection and it has made me think of retro-tech, especially DVDs! My mini album I am showing you today is supposed to be a DVD boxset with three different inserts that each represents a series (even though all photos of my album were taken on the same day in London). It’s a fun way to document a short trip with different photos for every day.
I started with the boxset “cover” and used Color Vibe in the color Flamingo which I trimmed down to 11.75 x 9.5 Inches. I scored at 1, 5, 6.75 and 10.75 Inches on the long side and at 1.75 and 7.75 Inches on the short side and assembled my open box. I used a circle punch to cut out half circles in the centre, so it’s easier to remove the inserts. I’ve used one of the patterned papers from the collection and added light pink machine stitching as well as one of the chipboard pieces for my cluster on the outside of the cover. How amazing is that pink typewriter?!
I created the base of my three inserts with Color Vibe in Mint, Bubblegum and Daffodil and trimmed it in half to 6 x 12 Inches. On the long side I have scored at 2.25, 2.5, 6.5, 7 and 11 Inches. This creates an insert that has extra flip outs on each side for smaller photos or journalling (or pretty stickers). I’ve used various patterned papers from the collection and trimmed them about a quarter of an Inch smaller than the insert, because I still wanted the fun Color Vibe colors visible throughout the inserts.
My photos are all about 3 x 4 Inches and fit perfectly into this mini album. I’ve used all of the beautiful embellishments from the collection and had so much joy decorating each insert.
Fun fact: I’ve documented a day out in London with my best friend who I met through our love for a British girlband and one of their songs is called Real Life - so having a foam sticker with the same words is just so cool!
