Hello Simple Stories friends, Becki here, to share two layouts with you that I created using the Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden collection. This collection is absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't wait to dive in and make a project...or two. The Farmhouse Garden collection has a beautiful vintage vibe. I wanted to see if I could make one layout that had a clean, simple feel and one that had a distressed, vintage feel.
Let’s start with a clean and simple design. Recently I’ve loved the quilted look so I decided to create a quilted border with 2x2 pieces of patterned papers from the Farmhouse Garden 6x8 paper pad. I used a patterned paper from the Color Vibes collection (Aspen White/Notebook) as a neutral background.
The teal paper from the Farmhouse Garden Basics paper pack made the perfect mats for my photos. I used a 6x4 photo as well as a 3x4 photo. The journaling is hand written on a cut apart card and tucked behind the photo in a hidden pocket.
To keep this layout simple and clean I used white thread for all the stitching and kept clean lines throughout the layout. I used chipboard and die cuts from the card kit to embellish the layout. The bold, beautiful title is “together” from the Farmhouse Garden Foam Stickers. I am SO happy with how this layout came together.
For the second layout, I wanted to stick with the vintage, distressed vibe of the Farmhouse Garden collection. When I opened this collection, I fell in love with the black and white gingham patterned paper and knew that I wanted to use it as a background. I layered two more papers with distressed and stitched edges before I created the rest of the layout.
To add to the distressed, vintage vibe I added little bundles of black thread behind the embellishment clusters that I created with stickers, layered stickers, and foam stickers.
I had so much fun creating these two layouts with the Farmhouse Garden collection. Whether your style is clean and simple OR distressed and vintage, this collection is for you.
