Forever and Always
Hello, Simple Stories friends! It’s Jen today with my first project as a member of the 2024 Simple Stories Design Team. I am so excited for the opportunity to work with this amazing company and amazing creatives for another year.
First up is a layout using the new Simple Vintage Love Story Collection, which could not be more perfect to document my daughter’s recent engagement.
When creating this project, I began by using paper from the 12 x 12 Vintage Basics Kit with the Love Stencil and Distress Oxide Ink. After stenciling the background, I added further depth and detail with the coordinating rub ons.
Next, I created a focal point for the photos by backing them with patterned papers before adhering them to the background. I chose to use black and white pictures to keep with the classic look of the collection. Above the photos, I selected a patterned paper from the 6 x 8 Pad, rounded the corners, and added the title using Foam Stickers.
I love the vintage typewriter embellishments in this collection and used one from the Big Bits with my typewriter to add journaling. Of course, I made a couple of errors when typing, but they add to the overall charm of the project (at least that is what I am telling myself).
Embellishments were next, and I used several pieces from the Ephemera and Floral Bits packs as well as from the Sticker Book. Last, I added Washi Tape to the top and bottom edges and splattered black ink onto the background.
Here’s another look at the finished 12 x 12 layout. It is so sweet and captures the special moment so well.
