It's Nathalie with you today to bring you inspiration featuring the new colorful and fun OPEN ROAD collection. I love this collection, it is versatile as you can document your travels, vacations, and everyday stories easily with it. I am using it to document a memory that at times gets overlook, the passengers as you set on a road trip,
I wanted to bring color and interest to the page, so I quickly reached for the stripes in the CAPTURE THE GOOD and HIT THE ROAD patterned paper, I then rearranged them to form chevrons on top of the YOU ARE HERE PAPER - which I cut to 11x11.5 piece.
I adhere the chevrons at the top of the page, then I adhere it atop the MAP IT OUT patterned paper. I love the graphic look that the chevron creates on the top of the layout.
I loved the road heart featured in the 6x8 paper pad, so I cut them out of the paper, and used a crafty knife to hollow out the shape. I wanted to center the picture with these at the bottom of the chevrons.
I backed the photo with a piece of the same paper that is at the base of the layout. I love the contrast of the straight angles of the chevron and the roundness of the hearts. Then it was all about adding embellishment to the top of the photo - there are so many cute embellishments, but I kept it simple and took advantage of the lines in the chevron.
To balance the page, I mixed different fonts and sentiments from the Foam Icons below the chevron to create a large title. Then used some of the Cardstock Icon Stickers to bring more of the road trip feel to the page. A few enamel dots around the page complete the look!
