Hi friends! Andrea Lake here, and today I’m sharing a new 12x12 layout created with the beautiful Pumpkins & Plaid collection from Simple Stories. Fall is my favorite season, so this collection immediately spoke to me with its warm autumn colors, beautiful florals, pumpkins, plaids, and touches of pink. I used one of my favorite fall photos as the focal point and surrounded it with lots of layers, patterns, and little details that capture everything I love about this time of year.
One of my favorite parts of this design is all the layering. I used several of the 12x12 patterned papers in different widths to create vertical strips behind my photos, mixing florals, plaids, and smaller patterns. I added machine stitching to many of the layers for extra texture and definition. Along the right side, I tucked a row of tags between the paper layers, adding twine bows to create even more dimension and a fun repeated detail.
For the embellishments, I mixed pieces from the Cardstock Stickers, Page Pieces, Bits & Pieces, Journal Bits & Pieces, and Floral Bits & Pieces. I built small clusters around the photos and tags, combining pumpkins, leaves, florals, and phrases while allowing plenty of the patterned papers to remain visible. The large “Fall Details” title anchors everything near the bottom of my photo, while the journaling piece gave me the perfect place to add a little bit of the story behind this memory.
I love how this page celebrates not only a favorite photo, but all the little details that make fall such a special season. The colors and patterns in Pumpkins & Plaid made it so much fun to mix prints, add layers, and create lots of texture and dimension—the things I love most about putting a scrapbook page together!
