Happy Fall, Friends! Hi, It Is Ali, @funadventureswithali with you today! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, and I’m completely in love with this beautiful autumn collection from Simple Stories. It was the perfect choice to document my visit to the sunflower fields last September—the golden yellows and deep oranges matched the scene so perfectly.
For my layout, I started with a large square in the center and then cut four more squares from the gorgeous patterned papers in the 6x8 paper pad. I trimmed those into triangles by cutting them diagonally, choosing colors that coordinated with my selfie in the sunflower patch. I hand-stitched the triangles and center square using coordinating DMC thread, using a simple backstitch to add cozy texture—just like the season itself!
To bring even more sunflower magic to the page, I used pieces from the ephemera pack to cluster sunflowers around my photo, making it feel like the field was blooming right off the page. I tucked in some decorative brads and enamel dots for extra detail and dimension.
I couldn’t resist those gorgeous foam stickers—Fabulous made the perfect title for this sweet memory. And if you like to keep your journaling short and sweet, the cardstock word stickers are perfect for that too.
