I kicked things off by cutting strips of 2 patterned papers: Crafty times and Making Memories. I wove the strips horizontally and vertically to create a patchwork of color and texture. To secure the woven piece, I adhered it to my light pink cardstock and then I stitched across it in several directions with my sewing machine, using pink and teal threads for extra pop!
I matted my photo using squares and rectangles of different patterned papers that I also distressed. I placed it just above the woven area and adhered it using foam tape. Since there were so many scissors in the embellishments and on the patterned papers, I scattered scissors, in various sizes, all around the layout. I love that look 🙂 I also added clusters of flowers, hearts, and enamel dots to add dimension. Foam tape gave some pieces extra height and shadowing.
For my title, I used the word "fabulous" from the Bits & Pieces. I just cut off a tiny bit of the white border before I added it to the layout. The ampersand is also from the Bits & Pieces and I cut the border a bit narrower too. The letters for "crafty" are from the patterned paper called Elements 1.
As an additional little detail, I cut apart the words from one of the cards from paper Elements 1 and I added them horizontally and vertically to some of the strips of paper. As a final touch, I added gold splatters all around 🙂.
Thanks for stopping by and remember stay fabulous and crafty!
