Hello Simple Stories friends. Karlla here and I'm so happy to share my next project with you.
Today's layout made me want to head out and travel. It’s always great to have the chance to explore new places and meet people. So, I combined photos from our last road trip with the beautiful "Open Road" collection.
For the project base, I layered the "Roadside Memories" and "Journal Elements" papers. For the background, I also used two sheets of "Capture the Good" paper,
I simply trimmed one down to continue building the base, while for the other, I cut apart the strips (trimming them slightly as well),
using only the light pink, orange, and red ones. I adhered them only at the center and stitched diagonally with a sewing machine, leaving the edges loose to create texture in the background.
In the center of the layout, I added the two photos using layers of foam tape. For the decoration at the bottom, I created a mix of elements found in the "Journal, Floral, Elements Bits & Pieces" and "Chipboard Pieces" sets. The small phrases and the map I used to decorate the mini tag come from the "Cardstock Stickers Basics and Icons" packs. I used foam tape at varying heights for everything to create dimension.
For the upper section, I made practically the same choices regarding embellishments, using florals, journaling, and "Bits & Pieces" elements. From the "Simple Pages Page Pieces" set, I chose the large, beautiful sun to make that side of the project stand out.
To wrap things up, the combo I love adding as little accent details " decorative brads and foam stickers".
I loved creating this layout and reminiscing about that beautiful family trip to Colorado.
Experiencing all those moments and an incredible sunset, is beyond words... I’m just so grateful!
