Hello friends! Emilie here with a brand new layout created using the LIFE CAPTURED collection. If you are like me and don’t really create any yearly pocket albums, don’t let this stop you from getting your hand on this beauty and let me give you some ideas on how to use this collection!
This is such a gorgeous, feminine collection although still very versatile. Yes, it has plenty of simple florals, but it also burst with lots of icons that land themselves very well to recording everyday life as well as patterns and colours which would work for more masculine layouts.
During the school holidays we had been painting with Sophia and the colours of my photographs worked perfectly with this collection. I chose patterned papers which spoke to me the most and for once I even cut-out some of the 6x4 cards on “pocket” sides of the 12x12” sheets to layer behind my photographs.
I dived into the packs of BITS AND PIECES and found in them what I needed to embellish my page. My title would be made out of the “Follow your heart” board and a sprinkling of hearts would help me bring a little bit of interest through the big wide “white space” running right through the middle of my layout.
The camera came from the 12x12” cardstock sticker sheet and was the perfect touch to bring that idea of “moment captured”. The littles words which can be found on the sticker sheet or throughout the sticker book are a perfect extra touch to help me express some feelings I had when I took my photographs.
Contrary to my habits, I didn’t feel the need for a big title. I felt the “board” in the top right corner of my layout was big enough and represented perfectly what was happening in the moment. Sometimes less truly is more! And it goes to show how versatile the packs of BITS AND PIECES can be.
I was truly surprised with how easy it was to create a 12x12” layout with this collection! I hope that I gave you some ideas on how to use the LIFE CAPTURED collection even if you don’t create pocket albums. Make sure you get your hand on it before it is too late!
Lots of love,
