Hi friends! It’s Ali from @funadventureswithali, and I’m excited to share a nature-themed layout I created using the Simple Vintage Woodlands collection. Even though our photos were taken during a hike through the desert in Joshua Tree National Park, not exactly a woodland setting—the colors in this collection worked beautifully with the scenery!
For the background, I used the Color Vibe 12x12 Textured Cardstock in Warm White. The subtle contrast really makes the photos pop! I also created a punched border using navy paper from the Simple Vintage Woodlands 12x12 Vintage Basics Kit. I love how the large holes in the border design add texture and interest to the page. To finish it off, I added a stitched border for some extra contrast and detail.
One of my favorite things about these collections is the ephemera, they make layering so easy and fun. On the top right corner of the page, I embellished a pretty ephemera piece with some enamel dots and a word sticker. Then, on the lower left-hand side, I used another large ephemera piece as the base for my title. I added foam stickers to a sentiment piece for extra dimension, plus a few more enamel dots for a finishing touch. I love using foam stickers because they already have the perfect amount of adhesive and height—no extra work needed!
Even though we were hiking through the desert, it was surprisingly cold that March Day! We bundled up and explored Skull Rock, admired the unique rock formations, and of course, took in the beauty of the iconic Joshua trees.
