One of my favorite things about travel is adding those little personal touches that make an adventure feel even more special, and these luggage tags were such a fun project to create! Using the amazing Open Road collection, I turned simple luggage tags into mini pieces of travel art that would make any suitcase stand out at baggage claim. I mixed and matched pieces from the 6x8 paper pad, layered in lots of all of the ephemera, cardstock stickers, foam stickers, decorative brads, and finished everything off with pops of enamel dots and ribbon for extra texture and dimension. “Good Times Ahead” Scooter Tag
This cheerful tag was the perfect way to kick off the set! I started with some Robins Egg Color Vibe cardstock and framed it with pretty floral paper from the 6x8 paper pad for a playful touch. The adorable vintage scooter instantly became the focal point and paired perfectly with the large arrow and Good Times Ahead sentiment. I tucked in a few florals and added Enamel Dots for a little shine and dimension.
“Adventure – Explore More, Worry Less” Bear Tag
For this tag, I leaned into all the outdoor adventure vibes. Pretty mint and green 6x8 Patterned paper was used. I created a little scene with some mountain ephemera in the background while the sweet bear image became the star of the design. The large Adventure title from the Foam Stickers stretches across the front and is balanced with florals, leaves, sunshine details, and geometric mountain shapes behind it. A few enamel accents helped tie everything together.
“Let’s Go” Tag
This tag has such a fun vintage travel feel! I layered 3 die-cut rectangles, florals, and luggage icons to create a little travel collage. The bold Let’s Go sentiment from the Chipboard Elements gives it movement and excitement, while shiny enamel dots and layered embellishments bring extra texture to the piece.
“Explore” USA Map Tag
I absolutely love the colors on this one! The green map paper background was the perfect starting point for the large USA ephemera element. I layered in cameras, little sparkles, and travel icons to build lots of detail around the oversized Explore title. Decorative brads added that extra bit of depth.
“Adventure – You Are Here” Compass Tag
This tag became one of my favorites from the set! I layered oversized hotel key-shaped ephemera in soft travel-inspired colors and added twine for texture. The compass Chipboard embellishment anchors the design beautifully while the "Adventure" and "You Are Here" sentiments add such a fun travel feel. I finished it with a butterfly Chipboard accent and a few decorative brads for extra detail.
Desert Camper Tag
How cute is this little camper? I created a desert-inspired scene using cactus elements, sunshine icons, clouds, and warm patterned papers. The camper adds the perfect retro road-trip vibe, while the Let’s Go license plate sentiment gives it a playful finishing touch.
Travel Trailer Tag
This one has all the cozy road-trip charm! I layered a mountain 3x4 element piece behind the adorable floral trailer and added dragonflies and soft pastel accents throughout the design. The floral cluster at the bottom, which is a Foam Sticker, softens everything and gives the tag a sweet vintage feel. The Travel – Away We Go title was the perfect finishing touch.
This project was such a fun reminder that travel memories don’t always have to live inside scrapbook pages. Sometimes the smallest projects can spark the biggest inspiration!
