Hello friends, it's @tyasmith3, and I am so happy to be here with you today! I hope that your summer is going well so far! We were able to do a Designers Choice project and I am so excited to share with you what I created this month!
So, I am such a fan of all of the different types of embellishments that come in each of the Simple Stories collections, and I know many of you are as well. When I start to design my projects, I always start with the embellishments and make little groups or clusters of the embellishments. I then use these little groups to add to my cards, tags, or other projects. I recently came across these really fun books on YouTube called “Embellishment Books” that so many talented crafters have made. These books are made to be shared with a crafty pal and I thought what better collection to use to do this than the “Crafty Things” collection. Here is my cover:
Notice how I made the fun ribbon tassel on the side that I added to the spine of one of the pink stripe SN@P binders. These ribbons make great decorations, as well as them being able to be used on projects! The paper I used for the cover is from the 6x8 paper pad that I fancied up with some enamel dots and foam stickers.
On the inside of my book, I designed the pages so that the embellishments I made can be easily used by the recipient. I added some pattern paper inside one of the page protectors and then added these fun rosette decorations to the page protector with some removable glue dots. This way the recipient can simply take the embellishments off when needed.
I added this fun angled pocket page which a package of the super fun Alpha Bits Ephemera gets tucked into.
Here, I created a fun shaker package with one of the Chipboard Frames. The shaker packaging is just added to the back of the frame with some washi tape from the Crafty Things collection so the recipient can use the frame and the shaker elements.
Here, I used one of the 4x6 pocket pages where I turned 2 of the 4x6 cut-apart cards into Memory Dex cards!
A 3 X4 pocket page was turned into a spot for 4 tags that are layered and decorated up from the Tag Elements paper. Lots of embellishing with stickers and die cuts make these a really fun embellishment to give!
I used a little pocket die from my stash to create this fun pocket page that creates a fun way to showcase more embellishments. I used a few clusters I made along with some of the mini tags that are found in the 6x8 Paper Pad. So cute!!
This page is another spot where you can add a cute gift to your recipient. Here I used a small bag to add the adorable Stamp set tied with a ribbon. They will love these!
I couldn’t help but add a couple of Polaroid-type embellishments on this page. The collection has some super cute cameras in it, and these were a great way to showcase those!
My last page of the book is another pocket that holds a couple of the sticker sheets from the Sticker Book. That way, your recipient could add these to their own projects!
I had an absolute ball making this book, and hope I have inspired you to get out all of your Simple Stories embellishments and play with them. You can even make a book for yourself, and when you need an embellishment, you will have lots of them handy, ready to go! I hope you all have the best day! Thank you so much for stopping by and we will see you all next time!
