Hi Friends, it's Rebecca with you today and with the sudden weather change here in the UK, it seems fitting to be sharing an Autumn layout with you! Cider & Donuts is a wonderful collection full of rich autumn colours and pretty patterns.
To begin, I cut circles from several patterned papers from the collection pack. I tried to get a mix of colours and patterns which would work well with my photo. I then arranged the circles onto a sheet of white smooth cardstock in rows of 3, slightly overlapping to soften the edges.
After matting my photo with a layer of patterned paper, I positioned it on top of the circles, over to the right-hand side of the page to allow space for my title. As always, I've raised my photo up with a layer of foam to help keep it the focal point of the page and to introduce some dimension.
To the left of my photo, I positioned my title. I've used one of the Foam Stickers for the title as I love the dimension they offer. I've always said this, and I can't see it changing any time soon - the Foam Stickers are one of my all-time favourite Simple Stories products!
As I'd used several different patterned papers for my circles, I was concerned that if I added too much in the way of embellishments, the elements would start clashing and the page would look very busy, so I kept embellishing to a minimum.
I've used some of the floral and leafy elements from the Floral Bits & Pieces and ticked them behind my photo diagonally. I love that these elements are quite large, so I didn't need to add lots to make an impact. I've also added a couple of elements from the Journal Bits & Pieces - a tab to the top of my photo, and a circular journal card to the bottom which I'll use to add the date and location my photo was taken.
I finished the layout off with a couple of simple Rub-Ons above and below my circles. I love how easy the Simple Stories rub-ons are to apply and love the detail they add to a layout.
Thanks for reading! I hope you've enjoyed my layout and it offers you some inspiration. Cider & Donuts is available now from your favourite local retailers and I can't wait to see what you all create with it.
Take care,
Rebecca xx
