Hello Simple Stories friends and fans, Becki here, to share a layout with you that I created using the Homegrown collection. I was raised on a farm so this collection sang to my farmgirl heart. I couldn’t wait to dive in and get creative.
The first thing that caught my eye in this collection was the barn and the windmill. There was a huge windmill on the farm where I grew up. I knew I had to use it on my layout!! I tucked the barn and the windmill on the bottom right corner of the layout.
I printed two 4x4 photos for this layout. Aren’t they perfect for this collection?? I printed them with a white border to make them stand out against all the bright, primary colors in this collection. I adhered my photos along the bottom of the layout with just enough room for the title at the bottom. The foam stickers make the BEST titles. They’re so easy to use and leave a bold dimension.
Above my photos, I tucked two tags behind the photos that I fussy cut from the tag patterned paper. Isn’t that the absolute BEST patterned paper. It's my favorite paper! I love to use the adhesive brads in the hole portion of the tags. It gives the tags a bit of dimension and shine. I nestled strips of journaling around the tags and embellishments.
Above the photos, I created a fun border using the barn wood patterned paper. I cut seven 1x1 squares and then cut them in half diagonally to create triangles.. I adhered them above a washi border. To make sure that the triangles stayed in place, I used my sewing machine and stitched them in place with white thread.
I had SO much fun playing with this collection. I cannot wait to see what you create with the Homegrown collection.
Happy crafting!!
~Becki
