Classic Mouse treat boxes

Classic Mouse treat boxes
Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on the Simple Stories blog today to share with you a fun project I created using the new Classic Mouse collection. This collection is full of all things vintage & Disney! I love the icons and the colors and had so much fun working with it!

When I first saw this collection, my mind immediately to "birthday party". I think this collection would be SO cute for creating invitations, decor, & more for a little one's birthday celebration. I went in that direction and decided to create some fun favor boxes that are festive and embellished with all things Mickey and Minnie!

To create these favor boxes, I started with a 5.5 x 6-inch sheet of patterned paper. I scored on the 5.5 inch side at 1.5 and 3 inches. On the 6 inch side, I scored at 1.5 and 4.5 inches, or at 1.5 inches on both ends.

Along the sides of this scored template, there are two small squares. To assemble the boxes, cut along the lines of the squares. This will create two tabs, with two panels on either side, one shorter and one longer. Glue the shorter, front panel up and onto the tabs. Then, glue the bigger, back panels onto those by wrapping them around toward the front.

Next, cut diagonally from the back corner edge to the front using scissors. Do this on both sides. This will create the classic sloped edge that favor boxes have.

These favor boxes are super quick and easy to make once you get the basics down. I used an assembly-line process to create four examples to share with you.

The Mickey and Minnie icons from Classic Mouse were so fun & cute that I used them on every boxI just couldn't get enough! I used a mix of these, along with a bunch of other fun icons, from the collection to create clusters of embellishments on both the front and inside back of the boxes. This added dimension and depth.

Now, because these boxes are quite small, I used smaller embellishments from the Bits & Pieces pack, Decorative Brads, and Cardstock Stickers to decorate them.

To finish these favor boxes off, I added small glass confetti charms to the left-hand side of each in coordinating colors to the collection. I think this adds just the right amount of extra fun to the project!

Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I hope you're inspired to create some favor boxes of your own, with any collection, for any occasion!
