Halloween crafting is always one of my favorites, and the Say Cheese Classic Mouse Halloween collection from Simple Stories made this project especially fun! I created a festive mix of cards and tags filled with classic Halloween colors, playful patterns, and lots of adorable mouse-themed details.
For this set, I used goodies from all of the ephemera packs along with papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad, the Foam Stickers, the Cardstock Stickers, Decorative Brads, Enamel Dots, the Tag Elements paper, and coordinating Color Vibe cardstock. I also mixed in a few of my favorite finishing touches—doilies, ribbons, and twine—to add even more texture and dimension.
I love seeing all nine pieces displayed together! I clipped the cards and tags onto strands of jute twine with mini clothespins, which turned the whole collection into a cute little Halloween display. It’s such a fun way to enjoy handmade cards before sending them off to someone special.
Mickey and Minnie take center stage on this card, surrounded by a big pile of layered ephemera. I mixed several patterns from the 6x8 Paper Pad and added a Decorative Brad, ribbon, and lots of dimension to give this card that wonderfully layered look I love.
This purple tag is packed with Halloween goodness! I layered several smaller ephemera pieces behind the adorable jack-o’-lantern, then added a little patterned pocket along the bottom. Black-and-white ribbon and green twine at the top finish it off perfectly.
I couldn’t resist this cute scarecrow! I layered him along the side of the card with a pumpkin and colorful leaves while letting the large tag and playful “Treats and Tricks” sentiment tag become the focal point. A little ribbon, twine, and dimensional embellishing add the perfect finishing touches.
How cute is this classic Minnie? I started with black Color Vibe cardstock and layered orange patterned paper and journaling pieces before adding the Minnie Chipboard and the jack-o’-lantern. A Decorative Brad and a little cluster of stars and bats give this tag just the right amount of Halloween sparkle.
This card has such a fun little spooky scene! I layered the haunted castle over the bat-patterned background and surrounded it with trees, stars, and classic Mickey and Minnie images. The large orange moon and banner sentiment help frame everything beautifully.
The bright green on this tag is such a fun pop of color among all the traditional Halloween shades. I tucked a coordinating doily behind the frame and layered Mickey, bats, and a cute “EEK!” speech bubble on top. Ribbon, twine, and Enamel Dots add those little details that make a tag feel extra special.
This one is all about layers! The little Mickey ghost peeking out from behind the pumpkins is just too cute, and I love how the bright aqua paper makes the orange, purple, green, and black really pop. A green doily tucked behind the scene adds some extra texture without taking away from all those darling characters.
This sweet little ghost tag might be one of my favorites! I layered the large ghost over the ghost-patterned paper and added the “Boo!” speech bubble, tiny stars, leafy ephemera, and that hilarious tombstone. A little black twine at the top keeps the look simple and spooky.
Minnie looks ready for Halloween in her adorable costume! I layered her with colorful pumpkins, bats, leaves, and the “Trick or Treat” Foam Sticker banner over several coordinating patterns. A Decorative Brad tied with black twine and a few sparkly accents give this card one last festive touch.
