Christmas Love
Hello Simple Stories Friends!
It's Nathalie with you today with some fresh inspiration featuring the beautiful Simple Vintage Dear Santa collection.  This new collection is so colorful, filled with classic designs, and probably my most favorite things, layering pieces.  The designs were just perfect for this memory of my littles visiting Santa.

The inspiration for this page was the Holly + Jolly paper.  I thought the idea of paper strips with a large cluster of layers was the perfect background for a Santa memory.  So, I trimmed the paper to just get the soft print side to use as part of my background.

I cut long strips of patterned paper (following the exiting idea on the right side of the Holly + Jolly paper) and adhered them together.   My idea was to use these strips as an anchor for all the paper layers, that meant laying them horizontally across the bottom part of the soft print paper I had just trimmed.

Of course, I went looking for a chipboard frame for my photo! However, this time, I am not framing the photo with it. Instead, I am using it as part of my cluster.   I just started taking pieces from all the embellishments to create a large cluster to the right of the photo.

Once I had all the layers ready, I glued them to the patterned paper background.  Here, I used one of the foam stickers and a small phrase sticker from the Sticker tablet to create my title.   I knew that I need it to create a highly contrasting base for the layout; so, I reached for the Lump of Charcoal/Gingham Simple Vintage Dear Santa basic paper for the background.

First, I used the Holly 6x8 Stencil and white ink to create a bit of the design impression to the left and right side of the page.   Then, I glued the patterned paper layers and cluster in place.  I added a small cluster of embellishments to the top left side of the layout to balance the page.   I continued to add small pieces of washi tape, stickers and brads to complete the layered look of the page.

To finish my page, I added a few drops of white acrylic ink a to each of the clusters and stenciled area. This just gives the layout a bit of interest.  I just loved how this turned out, and I hope that it provides a bit of inspiration for a project of your own featuring the beautiful Simple Vintage Dear Santa collection!

XO!
