When I think about scrapbooking and the joy it has added to my life, my group of friends (aka The Crafty Girls) is undoubtedly at the top of the list. These ladies have been in my life for almost ten years. We met by chance at a retreat in 2011 and have been friends ever since.
Twice each year we get together for a weekend crop; however, because of the pandemic we have not been able to meet in over two years. That all changed a couple of weeks ago when we got together for the first time since 2019! To say I was overjoyed is an understatement – we picked up right where we left off and had the best time.
What better way to document these beautiful ladies and our friendship than with the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Indigo Garden collection.
Every single piece of this collection is gorgeous and I wanted to use all of it. To begin, though, I used the 6x8 Stencil - Butterfly Garden with molding paste to create a dimensional background. Next, I added another patterned paper to the right side of the layout that I had torn and distressed.
This project has a lot of layers that were created with several patterned papers, chipboard, and die cuts.
To give the layers more depth, many of the embellishments were adhered with foam tape.
The title was super easy to put together using Foam Stickers, and I love how it looks against the beautiful florals on the page.
The patterned paper was perfect for my journaling – I love that the images of the lined paper and old tape were on the edge of the page exactly where I needed them.
Well, it’s hard to believe, but this is my last project as a member of the Simple Stories creative team. Thank you all so much for your encouraging words and kindness when visiting the blog and social media accounts. Being a part of Simple Stories has been a dream come true, and I hope to be able to return one day when life is a bit less hectic.
Thank you for visiting today, and I hope you’ve been inspired to create using the beautiful Simple Vintage Indigo Garden collection. It’s a stunner!
