Hello Simple Stories friends! The Christmas season is upon us and I am so excited to document memories – past and present. When it comes to December albums, I inevitably struggle each year to make and/or complete one, so it absolutely makes sense that I have two albums in progress right now!
To keep my process simple and streamlined, I decided to use the Jingle All the Way collection and matching 6” x 8” SN@P! album to document my family’s 2018 Christmas memories. Keeping to one set of products definitely makes it easier to complete a project!
For the cover, I used ribbon and twine with a cut apart tag, and I love the results. To keep the project from becoming too overwhelming, I committed to using only what’s on my desk . . . no sewing, cut files, or mixed media this time around.
The first page in the album is a 4” x 6” card with number die cuts and a sticker attached. Following that is a calendar from the 6” x 8” paper pad.
I stamped a couple of sentiments and the string of lights on the calendar, which I then colored and added glitter.
After the first couple of pages, the album came together very quickly. I am not completely finished, but did make it to Christmas eve. Using the patterned papers, SN@P cards, stickers, chipboard, and die cuts made the assembly and embellishing a breeze.
One of my favorite elements of the Jingle All the Way collection is the die cut numbers, which I used to notate the date on each story. Rather than hand-written journaling, I opted to type the stories in MS Word and print them to fit whichever size page/pocket I was using.
I was even able to include a bit of ephemera from a holiday concert my husband and I attended.
Even though I’ve yet to complete my 2018 album, I did make it through Christmas Eve and plan on recording the remainder of the stories while I am on vacation in a couple of weeks.
Christmas Day will be the final addition, and I will be certain to share those pages once they are complete.
Thank you sticking with me to the end of this very long post! I hope that you are inspired to document all of your special holiday memories . . . the Jingle All the Way collection makes it super simple and it is adorable!!
Have a great day!
