Hey friends! Brianna here today and I want to scream in (Mariah Carey's voice...) "It's tiiiiime!" It's holiday season time, that is! And I'm so excited to be sharing a layout with the brand-new Hard Candy Christmas collection! It's bright, happy and encompasses everything fun about the holiday season. The color palette and adorable icons that include gingerbread houses, vintage and classic candies, amazing fonts and of course the true regulars, candy canes, ornaments and holly leaves. Here's my page:
After ooh'ing and ahh'ing at all of the patterned papers in this collection, I ended up choosing the Merry Vibes 12x12 paper as my inspiration for this layout. I cut a portion of the wave design out and applied it to a piece of textured white cardstock. I absolutely fell in love with the movement that the small piece of pattern added to my page. It provided a base/jumping off point for this whole layout.
Next, I pulled out almost all of the ornament pieces from the Bits & Pieces pack. I had this idea of having them cascade down the page. They're the perfect size and they wouldn't steal the spotlight from my photo. I took it a step further and added some white string to each one and had them sort of "hang" down from that striped piece. I also popped up a few on foam tape for even more interest. I love how they look! Their fun shapes and pretty colors really pop on top of my cardstock.
Next, I matted my photo using a few papers from the 6x8 Paper Pack and then adhered my photo right at the center of my striped piece. This gave the effect of all of the stripes coming out from behind my photo. It really draws your eyes right to my photo. And look at my sweet girl, she's the best! I layered a few Journal Bits pieces under my photo and then pulled out a couple of Foam Stickers and Chipboard Stickers and adhered those as well. Check out that strawberry candy. I think we all grew up with these and honestly, they're delicious!!!! I didn't want to embellish too much but also wanted to make sure I used some of the gorgeous pieces in this collection!
For my title, I chose two different pieces from the Foam Stickers and adhered them towards the bottom of my layout. I love the font for the 'Christmas' piece!
I wanted to add a bit of sparkle, so I took one of my Stickles bottles in my stash and added some fun accents to each of the ornaments. Who doesn't love some sparkle, especially during the most wonderful time of the year!
