Candy
Hey there, my lovely Simple Stories friends! It's Yvette here, and I'm thrilled to share my latest creation with you using the fantastic FaBOOlous collection. This collection has got to be one of my absolute favorites, with its adorable and spooky Bits and Pieces, not to mention its stunning patterned papers that are simply to die for!
I incorporated my photo in one of the beautiful chipboard frames. I then realized that the picture did not occupy the entire space within the frame, so I created two 1/2-inch circles using some of the beautiful, patterned papers from the FaBOOlous collection. I then arranged them horizontally down the page, thereby filling the vacant space in the frame. I added two more chipboard frames to maintain an overall balance within the layout design.
I added embellishments in and around each frame to make them stand out. I used Journal Bits and die-cut Bits & Pieces to create a more cohesive and exciting look. One of the die-cut pieces I used was an eerie haunted house, which added a spooky touch to the overall design. I also incorporated bats, which complemented the theme perfectly.
I chose the foam word "CANDY" for the title because of a sweet memory I have. During a Halloween outing with my son, he kept asking for candy from people instead of saying "trick or treat." This cute moment stuck with me, so I used it as my title and added it directly onto the frame to commemorate it.
I included a small amount of stenciling throughout to add texture and depth to the page. This helped tie the different elements together and create a more cohesive and visually appealing layout.
Thank you so much for joining me here on the blog today. I hope that you've found some inspiration! Happy October to you all!
Yvette xoxo
