Hello, Nicole here today to share a single page layout featuring the new Sunny Days collection.
Where I live, summer lasts a long time—and it gets hot—so I always have plenty of summer photos to scrap. That’s probably why I’m such a fan of summer-themed collections! For the Sunny Days collection, I leaned into a bit of a color-focused look by pulling yellow, orange, and pink patterned papers. I cut them into chunky angled strips and added some hand stitching along the edges with matching thread to tie it all together.
I then sized my photos to fit into the chunky strips and started pulling embellishment pieces that matched the paper colors. The top section being yellow, I pulled icons and elements that were yellow and found some title pieces that fit my theme.
I worked my way down the page, placing embellishments in the color “zones” they matched. I love this kind of layout because it simplifies the decision-making—I’m only looking at certain colors, so I can tune everything else out. It’s always fun to discover little images and details I might have overlooked otherwise!
You can totally make something similar using your own color twist—maybe by pulling out the blues, greens, or those bold black-and-white elements, or even mixing them all together. I really encourage you to try a color-focused layout—it’s a fun way to get creative, and I hope this gives you a little spark of inspiration!
If you want to see how I put this page together I have a process video over on my channel showing how I created this layout.
