Bloom & Grow! by Jen Davis

Bloom & Grow! by Jen Davis
Hello friends! Jen here sharing a layout using the oh, so beautiful Full Bloom collection! I had so much fun putting this layout together using photos from a visit that my daughter and I took to an area sunflower festival. It was our first time ever attending and it was truly magical walking along the many rows and rows for happy, yellow sunflowers. Such a great way to spend an afternoon. Right now I'm looking out my window and I see nothing but snow so working on this layout was sure to put me in brighter and happier spirits!

For this page I decided to use the "Hello Spring" full 12x12 sheet to be most of the canvas of my layout. I trimmed just a smidge off of the top and the bottom to leave some room to add a bit of a turquoise stripe using the reverse side of the "Chasing Rainbows" paper. I added a straight stitch along those turquoise strips using my sewing machine.

Next I added my photos, figured out where I wanted my journaling (which I printed on vellum and placed to the left of my photos) and played around a bit with some of the Enamel dot stickers by adding them to the centers of some of the printed flowers along the bottom of the page.

I then added my title using the beautiful Foam Stickers. Once I had my title the way that I liked, I added three clusters of flowers above my title, popping the one that is in the center up a bit using some foam adhesive. Again, I added some of the Enamel Dots to some of the flowers just to add a bit of interest.

I usually create layouts with a bit of white space on my page but you'll see here that I really used up most of my 12x12 canvas/space. Play around with your embellishments and photos a bit before committing to sticking them down. I always do this...that way I can see how things will look in various ways. Once I have everything the way that I like it I will sometimes even snap a quick picture to remember how it is that I want everything placed. What are your assemblage tips? I'd love to hear them!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
