Documenting loved ones we have lost can be difficult at best; however, the new Remember Collection by Simple Stories is perfect for doing just that. After nearly six years, I was finally able to document my sweet mother-in-law who passed away in 2018 by creating this sweet layout.
The beautiful Beyond Blessed patterned paper is what I chose for the background because of the muted colors and the fact that it is something she would have loved. My thought behind this project was to create something I could display in my home, and I thought of artwork hung with ribbon, which is where the idea for the dimensional bow was born (created with a Silhouette file I had on hand).
The embellishments in the collection are absolutely beautiful and a wonderful complement to the photo I chose for this project, and the florals and butterflies frame the picture perfectly.
Rather than add journaling, I chose a lovely sentiment to get my feelings across. Oftentimes, I add journaling to the back of a project if I wish for it to remain private.
Last, I placed the title below the embellishments and photo then scattered a few decorative brads throughout. I could not be happier with how this project turned out and feel it represents who she was beautifully.
