Hello crafty friends! Gloria Parra here today sharing a stunning new layout using the absolutely gorgeous Simple Vintage Junk Drawer collection. I just adore the vintage feel of this line — the soft florals, antique elements, and delicate details made it the perfect choice to document my daughter’s First Communion portrait. This collection truly feels like opening a treasured drawer filled with memories from the past.
To begin this layout, I chose the beautiful old book patterned 12x12 paper as my background. It has that perfectly aged, vintage look that instantly sets the tone for the page. On top of that, I layered the light pink patterned paper with the floral corners. I trimmed it down to 11¼” x 11¼” so the book print would frame it nicely. Before adhering it, I gently distressed the edges with my fingernails to add texture and enhance that worn, timeless feel.

Next, I reached for the 6x8 paper pad and selected both a text pattern and the charming drawer pattern to build my layered photo mat. My daughter’s portrait already had a soft green floral frame around it, so these subtle vintage prints complemented it beautifully. I positioned my photo slightly overlapping the bottom floral corner to anchor my design.
On the bottom right corner of the photo, I layered a chipboard viewfinder piece, allowing it to overlap slightly for dimension. I added some antique-looking keys from the foam sticker pack behind the viewfinder to complete that cluster. For my title, I used the “Beautiful Details” foam stickers — they felt absolutely perfect for this sweet and meaningful moment.

To balance the page, I created a second floral cluster on the left side of the photo using pieces from the Floral Bits pack. I selected blooms that matched my soft pink and green color palette and tucked them behind each layer to create fullness and depth.

At the top of the layout, I built a third cluster that includes a journaling piece layered with more florals. This creates visual movement and draws your eye upward while still keeping everything cohesive.
To finish the design, I added lots of butterflies from both the ephemera pack and the Floral Bits pack. I arranged them in a soft diagonal flow from the bottom right corner to the top left, creating movement across the page — almost like they’re gently guiding you through the story. I sprinkled foam hearts, buttons, and a few extra stickers around the layout to add texture and bring everything together in a balanced way.

I absolutely loved working with the Simple Vintage Junk Drawer collection for this timeless memory. It is truly stunning for documenting heritage photos, meaningful portraits, and all those treasured vintage-inspired stories.
I hope you feel inspired to create with it!
Hugs,
Gloria
