Hello, friends! It’s Jen today with a sweet project using the gorgeous Simple Stories Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers Collection. My daughters hold a very special place in my heart and I wanted to record this photo from my eldest’s recent baby shower, which will be featured on several upcoming projects…at least until the baby is born (Can you tell I am just a bit excited?).
The 12 x 12 layout is simple with no journaling because I wanted the focus to be on the photo. Originally, I created another project but decided not to use it because it was too busy. Sometimes, I love a collection so much that I feel the need to use all the things, which is not always a great idea. So, I decided to pare down the embellishments and ended up creating a layout I love.
When selecting a background for my photo, I looked to the 12x12 Vintage Basics Kit for inspiration. Because I was going for a simplified aesthetic, I decided upon the muted Violets paper.
After marking where my photo would be placed with pencil, I added random pieces of the rub-ons to the outer edges of the page as well as where the picture would sit. Additionally, I splattered a bit of ink to jazz up the background a bit. Next, I selected several of the larger florals from the Sticker Book to use as the base for embellishments.
After trimming the photo down from its original size, I adhered it behind the oval chipboard frame that matches the scenery in the picture perfectly. With the photo in place, I began embellishing with die cuts and stickers from the Floral Bits & Pieces and the Collection Kit.
Next, I used ribbon from my stash along the bottom of the embellishments and added a border sticker beneath it, which I crinkled up and cut down to a smaller length.
For the title, I chose the “beautiful” sentiment from the Foam Stickers and placed it on top of the ribbon. I then added a few Designer Brads and stamped the date (I realized after stamping the date that I had already written it on a die cut). Oh well, I just had to roll with it as I quite often do when crafting.
Here is one more close-up look at the project.
Thank you so much for visiting today. I hope you have been inspired to create with the lovely Simple Stories Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers Collection as much as I was. Have a great day!
