AWESOME Layout by Andrea Lake
Hi friends! Andrea Lake here, and today I’m excited to share this fun and colorful 12x12 layout featuring the Totally 80’s collection from Simple Stories! This page documents one of my favorite nights during the 2025 Simple Stories Retreat, when I joined the Puerto Rican group for some unforgettable photos. We laughed, danced, and fully embraced the 80’s theme, making memories that I know I’ll treasure for years to come. This collection was the perfect choice to capture all the energy and excitement of the evening with its bold colors and playful designs.
To create the foundation of this layout, I used Simple Stories Page Template 11, which made designing around multiple photos quick and easy while still leaving plenty of room for journaling and embellishments. I layered several patterned papers behind the photos, added machine stitching for extra texture, and used the large "AWESOME!" title to reinforce the fun, retro vibe of the page. The bright colors and graphic patterns from the collection really make the photos pop.
To finish the layout, I decorated with a mix of Foam Stickers, Cardstock Stickers, and Bits & Pieces, adding dimension and playful details throughout the page. I also included a journaling card to tell the story behind the photos, making sure this special memory is preserved alongside the pictures. I absolutely love how this layout came together—it's bright, energetic, and perfectly captures the joy of spending time with amazing friends at the retreat!
