Autumn
Hi everyone! Itās Ali Skifton with you today, sharing an autumn-inspired layout featuring the beautiful Pumpkins & Plaids collection. I used this collection to document a photo taken last October at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. The Bellagio Conservatory always knows how to put on a spectacular seasonal display, and all the gorgeous fall flowers were breathtaking!
I especially fell in love with the adorable mushroom and frog prince sculpture that was spraying water from its mouth. Of course, I had to take a photo in front of that beautiful fall scene!
For my background, I chose six different patterned papers from the 6x8 paper pad and cut them into several 3" x 1" pieces. I adhered the pieces to Simple Stories cardstock and then pierced holes around each rectangle using my nail piercer. I used cream-colored thread to hand-stitch around each piece, creating a fun quilted effect across the background.
I double matted my photo and used Crafty Foam Tape to adhere it to the stitched background, giving the photo a little extra dimension.
For my embellishments, I started with the Autumn foam sticker for my title and placed it along the bottom of the photo, slightly overlapping the edge. I added A Season Full of Color to the top of the main title to complete the title cluster.
Next came all the embellishing fun! I added some of the beautiful chipboard ephemera flowers and an adorable acorn using foam squares to give them extra dimension. A few coordinating brads and enamel dots around the acorn added the perfect finishing touches.
For the left side of my photo cluster, I used foam strips behind two journaling stickers to create additional dimensions. I added the chipboard tree and the cute pink bird perched on the mushrooms. I sprinkled a few more brads and enamel dots around the bird and mushrooms to tie everything together.
At the top of my photo, I added a photo tab and stamped the date the picture was taken. I finished this little cluster with two adorable mushrooms, a leaf, another brad, and an enamel dot.
I absolutely love how this layout turned out! The colors in the Pumpkins & Plaids collection coordinate perfectly with all the beautiful fall colors in my photo. šš§”
