Time for a Little Magic! by Amber Mitchell

Time for a Little Magic! by Amber Mitchell
Hi crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on the Simple Stories blog today to share with you a mini album I created using the new Say Cheese At The Park collection. This album features a small box centered between two mouse-shaped icons and a tag-flip full of fun!

To create the base of this album, I first used my Cricut software to design a mouse-shaped template. I gave this template a flat bottom edge to allow the album base to stand up easily on its own. I cut four of these icons from the 'Gang's All Here' patterned paper and then adhered them back-to-back to create two individual pieces. I machine-stitched along the edges of these pieces using my sewing machine to add more texture to the project.

To create the box for this project, I used a sheet of paper that measured 5.5 x 5.75 inches. I scored this paper on the 5.5-inch side at 2 and 3.5 inches. I then scored on the 5.75-inch side at 1.5 and 4.25 inches.
After folding and creasing all of the score lines, I turned the squares in the center of the template into tabs and used them to assemble the box together.

Once the box was assembled, I added the mouse-shaped icons to both the front and back of the box. To drive home the adventure park theme, I added a cute red and white polka dot bow to the left ear of the front-facing mouse.

When it came to the actual album for this project, I opted to make a tag-flip. I'm a huge fan of tags and lately I've been enjoying the process of finding new ways to include them in my projects.
To create this album, I used several tags from the Tags patterned paper. I machine stitched along the edges of all of these and used a hole punch to add holes to the tops of each one.
Next, I threaded all of the tags onto a white 1.25-inch binder ring.

When it came to embellishing this project, I used a mix of the smaller embellishments from the Say Cheese At The Park collection. This included pieces from the Foam Stickers, Cardstock Stickers, Chipboard Stickers, Decorative Brads, Puffy Stickers, Enamel Dots and Bits & Pieces.
I tried to add a few of each embellishment to every page to get a variety of textures throughout the album.
To finish this project off, I added a few handmade paper tassels and a confetti bauble charm from my stash to the binder ring.

This album was so fun to make! I loved designing both the storage box and mini album and I can't wait to see this album filled with happy photos and memories!
Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I'll see you next time with another fun project!
